THE SINGING COLLECTIVE
Singing groups for women and mums
SING TO FEEL GOOD!
A natural voice singing group for women in the community that focuses on singing for joy and wellbeing. There are many studies now showing us how effective singing is for our mental health yet so many of us believe we "can't sing". Please don't worry about whether you "can" sing or not, just come and join us and see how amazing, and therapeutic, it makes you feel to sing in a circle with other women. We'll be singing really simple songs, all learnt by ear, from empowering chants and lullabies to snippets of rock and pop, all with stunning harmonies. No sheets of music or backing tracks present!

ABOUT
The Singing Collective is run and led by Harriet Roberts in Haslemere. Harriet is a local mum of three who as well as running the choir, is also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. Harriet is very passionate about mental health and finding ways to both help people struggling or prevent the struggle happening, whether that be in adults or children. She has lots of experience with working with babies and toddlers as she previously ran 'Sing and Sing' both in London and Haslemere across 8 years.
Harriet did her training for choir leading with 'Singing Mamas'. Singing Mamas is a national community interest company that's aim and passion is to improve the wellbeing of women through singing. The organisation was set up primarily to to focus on women who are pre or postnatal because suicide is the leading cause of death for women during pregnancy and one year after birth and because singing is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of postnatal depression faster than the usual forms of treatment. Singing Mamas was started by nurse Kate Valentine in 2010.
